Thursday Night Football Recap Week 13

This week, the Thursday Night game took us North of the Border to Toronto, as the Toronto Series for the Buffalo Bills resumes for 2009. The opponent this time? Gang Green, also known as the New York Jets. The Jets are in the playoff hunt, and look to stay there, while the Bills look to build off their win over Miami. Let’s go to the recap.

NY Jets 19, Buffalo 13- Mark Sanchez threw the go-ahead touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards, and Jay Feely kicked four field goals (38, 49,31, 37) and the New York Jets kept their playoff hopes alive with a 19-13 win in the second annual NFL regular season game in Toronto for the Bills, known as the Toronto Series. With the score 10-9, and the Jets charging down the field before halftime, Sanchez hit Edwards up the middle, and Edwards got to the one and stretched over the goal line to break the plane for the score. At first the touchdown was not one as officials originally ruled Edwards down at the 1 yard line. After a review from the replay official upstairs, the Jets got the ruling of a touchdown and much momentum going in at halftime with the score 16-10. Using a stingy defense in the second half and holding the Bills to just three points after they scored 24 in the fourth quarter last week in Miami was huge for the Jets as they move within half a game of the final Wild Card spot in the AFC and 1 1/2 games behind AFC East leading New England, who plays Miami on Sunday in South Florida. The Bills established early momentum in the second quarter, after Marshawn Lynch had a big 35 yard run followed by a 15 yard touchdown run, but it was derailed by a couple of turnovers that helped the Jets get the victory. However, the Jets lost Mark Sanchez in the third quarter to a sprained PCL in his right knee after not learning how to slide. The amount of time he will miss has been yet to be determined. Jets (6-6), Bills (4-8)
